ERGA Demagnetizing coil is an ancillary equipment for effective demagnetization of slurry and separation of magnetic mineral floccules formed after magnetic separation.
It consists of a dielectric tube with flanges and a demagnetizing coil. The operating coil generates high frequency magnetic field that increases uniformly at first and then fades smoothly. The material flow is demagnetized due to the uniform distribution of the magnetic influence.

Installation of demagnetizers allows to enhance the efficiency of:
- beneficiation of magnetite and titanium-magnetite ores,
- regeneration of magnetite and ferrosilicon dense media (in coal, diamond and chrome ore beneficiation),
- processing of non-ferrous metal ores (sulphide-copper-nickel ores),
- magnetic separation of sulfidic copper-nickel matte.
During classification of magnetic products floccules formed in the process of separation are destroyed and particles are separated by actual size increasing screening efficiency, hydrocycloning.
- Increasing the quality of magnetite concentrate
ERGA demagnetizing coil helps to destroy magnetic floccules, thus increasing the content of useful component. For example, installation upstream the final stage of magnetic separation increases the mass fraction of iron in magnetite concentrates by 0.5-1.5%. It makes possible to stabilize the final product in terms of quality and move it to a higher price category.
According to the experience of installation - application of demagnetization prior to the final stage of wet magnetic separation increases the mass fraction in concentrate by 0.9% (from 63.8% to 64.7%). Losses with wet magnetic separation tailings are minimized by 0.5%.
