A visit by Castle Ingredients to the ERGA plant: new tests in the field of dry separation
On September 18, representatives from Castle Ingredients, Belgium, visited ERGA. The company specializes in the production of plant-based ingredients for the food industry. Adhering to an eco-friendly approach in their operations, the company was interested in testing their material using dry separation methods at the ERGA Innovation Centre.
This project became an exciting challenge for us, and we eagerly took it on. We received samples of ground mung bean protein after the aeroseparation stage in order to separate the starch from the protein and obtain a pure product.
For the dry separation test, we used the ERGA ELKRON TESS triboelectrostatic separator. During research at the ERGA Innovation Centre, the following parameters were optimized: voltage on the high-voltage collecting electrode, the position of the separator blades and the material of the surface of the triboelectrostatic separator. The tests were conducted in two stages: first on pre-dried material, and then on non-dried material without additional treatment.
Due to the fine particle size of the product, clumping and sticking processes were observed during the tests. After a series of tests, the customer took the product samples for further evaluation and research.
ERGA always takes a responsible approach to each project, carefully evaluating all solutions and results in collaboration with the client. If you need material separation, we are ready to provide a solution fully tailored to your requirements.
